About Holding a Grudge
In life and relationships, it's important to get and stay current with your feelings, to keep a clear focus on the present, to stop living in the shadow of old resentments, anger, or bitterness.
This does not mean denying negative feelings about what happened in the past. Quite the contrary. It's important to acknowledge those feelings, express them, better understand them--and then to let them go.
This exercise will guide you through writing your own "Letting Go of Grudges" letter to help you with that process.
You will be given a series of sentence stems that are important to complete in sequence as they relate to a person you are angry at.
When you're done, consider if doing the exercise led to any change in your feelings.
If you'd like a PAIRS Professional to confidentially review your responses and provide brief, complimentary feedback by email, please let us know by selecting the appropriate box at the end of this exercise.
